Per Grandma's request, I'm posting regarding Aurelies health status. (Before I say anything, let me say that I haven't spoken with her in a few days and these things change on a daily basis. Also, I am by no means speaking FOR Arie... just relating what I know. Arie, if you read this and want it changed, deleted, whatever... just call.)
About a week and a half ago, Arie went into her normal scheduled appt at about 23 weeks. When they ultrasounded the cervix, they found it had shortened significantly. Options were then discussed as to what could be done, but before doing anything, they had to make sure she wasn't having contractions. They hooked her up to the monitor and low and behold, she was having contracations at an alarming rate! (Arie said she was "uncomfortable" but figured that was just because she has two babies in there!) So, the doctor sent her home on strict bedrest with medications to stop the contractions and check back in a week when the meds had hopefully kicked into their full effect (and if they got worse, to call immediately, etc).
(You also need to understand that Arie was doing student teaching every day... of course, she is no longer doing that! The hope was and is that she was just over doing it and that bedrest with some meds will keep those babies in.)
Fast forward a week to last Thursday. The contractions seem to have subsided a great deal, although if she moves around too much they come back. Her doctor personal is out of town, so the doctor checking her is taking the "lets just make sure things aren't getting worse" approach until her regular doctor comes back. It seems as if that is exactly where things are at... not worse, but she still needs to be in bed. I think she may have received permission to go on one outing a week, provided that she has door to door driving service and sits while she is out. She used that to outing last week to go to Kelsie's graduation.
Arie's spirits are high, but she (and Ryan) is worried and bored already I think... while its one week at a time with a first goal of making it to 28 weeks, ideally she'll be able to carry these babies until 32 or even 36. So, I think thats a little overwhelming. Also, Ryan is at his new job and studying for the bar, so she is home alone quite a bit. I'm not sure how access/permission she has to sit at the computer to get email, so calling may be best (and helps her through her day). Of course, prayers and good thoughts are needed and welcomed. And, the shower is still on for July 16th baring that she isn't in the hospital on hospital bed rest or having the babies.

Nicole-looks great, that is pretty much the situation as best as it can be described. I'll hopefully have some new pictures and updates up sooner. We recently added a new computer for our home and now we're just waiting for a better connection. Then I'll try to be back a better blogger.
Oh thank you so much Nicole and Aurie. We had not heard about you being in bed honey. So sorry but better safe than sorry. I had to do that with Jason also and the medication does help. Our prayers will continue to be with you. Sorry we missed Kelsi's graduation, along with Ryran's and Aurie's, Amanda's and Katsu's. Brycen and Spencer's concerts etc. They are coming fast and furious now. Please understand our hearts are always with you in what ever you are doing. Grandpa and I are just getting too old and tired it seems to be able to go and see everything. We have been missing a lot of occasions but please know we are proud of all of you and feel so blessed to be your parents and grandparents.
