Just in today, Hank transferred districts and has a new address (now aren't you glad I didn't just post whatever I had 2 days ago!!!). He stresses that you shouldn't write Happy anything on the outside. For that matter, if you send anything other than a card, minimize the contents or value of anything of value; listing it all out would most certainly mean he would not get it. :)
Caixa Postal 234
Itabuna-BA-Brasil
CEP.45600-000
He seems to be doing well. He's on his 3rd companion now. The new companion is a Brazilian, which has its positives and negatives given the experience of his 1st (native), and second (non-native I believe). This is what he wrote in his correspondence to the immediate family this morning after just arriving in Itabuna:
"I am doing well.. the launguage is supurb.. i finally feel somewhat fluent.. This morning I traveled by myself for and hour, and then didn't know where to go when i got there, bucuase other people have a comunication problem! but i asked my way around, and though i was alone for 2 hours( very very strange after 6 months with a dude always) and i found the house with no knowledge of the city.. So its getting there..
I was a little bummed to get transfered.. We had some great people we were teaching, and i have really high hopes for what will happen with them.. I will know soon enough.! anDREoni is off to salvador, so yeah, we got all split uip... we got flushed out of ilheus we did..
But things are good.. Just holding it down, teaching the people, i like it.. more then i thought i would though.. helpin one another is a satisfying thing.. "
And that's all I have to report.
