Well we are home for a few days. Checking out the garden and getting the little trailer for the quad to take back to do a little more clean up. Did laundry and worked in the garden a bit. Seems as though Pedro and family don't like to pick it so everything was way over grown. We must have had lots of rain in the hills because all the melon vines were covered with this pink stuff. I thought for sure some dreaded disease had taken over; however, it was just the irrigation water and was easily washed off. I cut back the tomatoes and we picked lots. I think this is our last watermelon though unless some more come on. Everything looks a bit heat stressed but hanging in there. I picked about a doz. cantaloupe but they may need to ripen a bit more. I ate one today but Dad thouht it was not ripe enough. I had to throw four or more away because they were too ripe. There are still lots left on the vines. The watermelon was sooooo very sweet. Dad and I can eat a half of that one all by ourselves. Well in fact we did. :) Very good. We have so much squash that has gotten too big; but, we have found a wonderful recipe for creamed squash soup that is wonderful. We make it in the VitaMix and we love it. In fact I think I'll make some right now. Well maybe tomorrow; I'm way tired right now and full of melon.
Marijeanne and Michael bought a fifth wheel after totaling their trailer while coming home from Virginia and a truck to go with it. They are now tripping up to Jackson Hole to see Josh and Levi. We haven't seen it but they will bring it to the cabin when they get back they said. I hear it is very nice but bigger than they wanted. This was a good deal though so they will just have to suffer I guess in such luxuary. Poor things. It is about six years old and I think the truck is a 2001 GMC. It's a crew cab with a full back seat; like our old ford.
Maybe we can all get to the cabin again this year. I think cousin Bernardo Iroz is plannning to come to Cedar some time next month. I'll find out from Marijeanne and post it in case anyone would like to come up. We would love for any of you to come visit. Heather and Mari may come next week.
I am going to start posting a very interesting subject in installments. You may enjoy reading it. I have. We love you all so much and feel a need to draw you all closer together. Times are getting so out of control and we need one another to hold on. Little cousins also need to know how they fit into our ever growing family. We have been through a lot together and do have lots in common . Take time in your lives to be together and don't just drift away from each other. Together you are a strong force in this world. Strengthen each other and let each other know you will support one another. I know you would if it came to a real need. I would wish you all would reach out to Donald. He is your brother and no matter how hard he is at times to understand, he needs us all. Aurie and Ryan, thanks for all you have and do for him. You have certainly been friends. He will miss you when you move. We love you all.
