Undate on Olivia

I spoke to Marijeanne last night about eight. She was on her way home from SL. The baby had a turn for the worse but the Dr expected that. He told them she would get worse before better. She is on life support with tubes going everywhere and will be for probably two weeks. Marijeanne seemed optimistic and the Drs have not given them anything to beleive she will not pull out of this. Venita is on her way to spend the weekend; also Jill and kids. I am copying her letter to me this morning since she it gives a bit more information. We love you all and as a family please continue to remember Olivia in your prayers.


Hi Mom,...I am writing this late. I am not sure when you will see us tomorrow. I have had a heck of a time trying to get ready. There is so many irons in the fire. Have you heard about Heathers little Olivia? She is up at Primarys Hospital in the ICU. She is on Life Support. Belle has been sick the past week with a croupy something and was feeling better and than the last few days, Olivia stopped eating and was acting like she was not feeling well. Heather had brought both girls home from some errands. She pulled back the blanket covering the car seat that Olivia was in and found her blue and cold and not breathing. She called 911 and they instructed her on how to resuscitate an infant. She was able to get her to breathe again and then on the way to the hospital, the medics had to resuscitate her 3 more times. The tests came back and they believe that she has a virus..probably the same one that Belle had. Olivia was supposed to be born tomorrow. She is now 5 weeks old. Because she is a premature infant and so young, she was not able to fight the bug off herself. Their plan in to keep her on life support for at least 2 weeks to give the virus a chance to run its course and hope that she can stay stabilized. This all happened sometime yesterday afternoon/eve. This morning, her lungs had filled up with fluid. Marijeanne drove up as soon as she heard and is on her way back this afternoon. She took off work today and will work tomorrow and I believe Saturday and then will have work off for the next 2 weeks so that she can come back up and take Belle home to Cedar on Monday. Belle cannot be around any babies right now because of the risk that she might still be contagious. I believe Michael's sister in law is taking her until Marijeanne can come and pick her up. I feel so bad. I am going to see if maybe I can take Belle when I get home. I wanted to go get her today and then perhaps bring her with us but we have little Gavin here and that would not be good if he were to get sick. By the time you read this, you will have had two visitors arrive at your house I think. I know that David and Seth are on their way. Well, I am not too sure about Seth but I know that David is in your truck unless he decided to sleep at Johnny's tonight. Jill and her kids will be there tomorrow and we will too...hopefully. Who knows...Maybe Matt, Julie, and Gavin will show up on Saturday. When it rains, it pours huh?!! Oh..we will not need to get the chair after all. Seth picked it up in his truck on the way out of town and is bringing it home. (YEs!!) Well, I better go. I better go to sleep. The girls are so excited they could not hardly settle down tonight.
